The Entertainer

The entertainer is an old lady with a doll-like growth protruding out of her stomach. She doesn’t speak, only smiles with a grin pulling her wrinkled cheeks up and over her eyes. When she walks she shuffles about with limited movement, though the weight of the foreign entity doesn’t seem to phase her. The growth’s face is hidden by a plastic mask and its body covered by a patched-up jester costume. The noises that come from this ‘thing’ are cryptic but melodic. Can we communicate?
